The music is the excuse; the friends are the point. Every jam on this site is hosted by someone who'd rather welcome a stranger than impress a critic.

We describe where we are on our musical journeys in friendly, honest terms — Just curious, Playing a bit, Pretty comfortable, Music is my life. These are descriptions, never rankings. There is no "beginner" and no "expert" — just buddies at different points on the same road.
